The Taylor Track
The Taylor Track
Paluxy River Region, Texas
90 to 135 million years ago

The Discovery:

Stan Taylor first discovered two footprints in the Paluxy River. Subsequent excavation of the area revealed a total of fourteen prints in the trail with a consistent right-left pattern. Also found was a trail of a three toed dinosaur. One of the footprints is actually inside the dinosaur print.

Established Theory:

Kuban claims that the tracks are elongated prints made by an, as yet unknown, dinosaur. The prints have been further distorted to appear human through infilling and erosion. Some creationists also question the human-like footprints and state that they may be elongated dinosaur prints.

Alternative Theory:

Because most of the footprints were buried in tons of limestone that was removed in excavation, carving was an impossibility. The footprint and dinosaur print together requires that they be made at the same time as the mud must be solidified quickly in order to preserve the prints. Individual toe prints can be seen in about half of the prints. The size of the footprints (11.5") and stride are consistent with 6'4" person.

Conclusions:

Both sides of the debate have solid evidence for their arguments. Based on the arguments it is difficult to determine which side is correct. Some creationists who have originally labeled them as human have since reversed this due to new evidences. Other creationist stand by the original claim.
