Pennsylvania Bones Pennsylvania 290 to 354 million years ago |
The Discovery:
Beginning in the early 1980's Ed Conrad had been digging in the anthracite coal beds of Pennsylvania uncovering what appeared to be fossilized human bones. Over the next twenty years Ed has been trying to convince the scientific community that these are human bones. Some of the specimens are on display at the "Greater Hazieton Historical Society" with the following quotation, "This is the only museum in the world where petrified bone, found between coal veins is on display".
Established Theory:
The objects are conincidental images of human anatomy. Under scientific examination they are found to be inorganic in nature.
Alternative Theory:
When Ed Conrad first discovered the bones he took them to the Smithsonian Institution for analysis but after hearing that they were from the Carboniferous Period (hundreds of millions before man evolved according to the evolutionary theory), they simply looked at them and said they were not fossilized bones without even examing them through scientific analysis. Ed Conrad had the bones investigated by independent persons and submitted them to several different tests including high power magnification. According to the investigator the haversian canals present in all bone material, even fossilized ones, can be seen in the specimens. For a complete detail of Ed's discovery and investigation, see his web site.
Conclusions:
I am not a scientist but the pictures presented on Ed Conrad's site are pretty convincing. The 2,000 power magnification of specimen #EC96-001 compared to a modern bone are strikingly similar. PZ Meyeres, who refutes the specimen is a bone, has written an article on his involvement with Ed on the project. In his article is a picture of the same specimen but only at 115 power magnification. Again, I am no scientist but this picture does not really reveal anything to me. Andrew MacRae of the University of Calgary has also inspected specimens from EC96-001, which he details in his article. The highest magnification I can find documented in his article is 504 power.
Because these specimens were discovered in caol which was formed about 300 million years ago, according to the evolutionary theory, the established scientists have a strong doctrinal bias to discount the specimens as human. There is no possible way they can be human as humans did not evolve until about 100,000 years ago. Ed Conrad does not appear to be looking for fame or money, limiting a motive for bias, but he has invested allot of time and energy into this project which could influence his interpretations. The one test that intruiques me the most is the infra-red scan of the specimen that he had interpreted by a surgeon and medical doctor without telling him where the scan came from. The Doctor's response was "The scan identifies your material as compatible with either tooth or bone in origin. It does not date the material, neither does it tell species of origin (ie., human or otherwise)." This doctor would have no doctrinal bias in his interpretation of the scan.
In my opinion, Ed has demonstrated a high probability that these specimens are in fact fossilized bones.
