Genesis 16:1 and Sarai, the woman of Avram, did not bring forth for him, and belonging to her was a maid of Mits'rayim, and her title was Hagar, וְשָׂרַי       wê'sa'rai and~Sarai אֵשֶׁת       ey'shet    mits'rit Mits'rayim~s וּשְׁמָהּ       ush'mah and~TITLE~her הָגָר       ha'gar Hagar Genesis 16:2 and Sarai said to Avram, "please look, Yhwh stopped me from bringing forth, please come to my maid, possibly I will build from her," and Avram heard the voice of Sarai, וַתֹּאמֶר       wa'to'mer and~she~will~SAY (Verb) שָׂרַי       sa'rai Sarai אֶל       el TO אַבְרָם       av'ram Avram הִנֵּה       hin'neyh LOOK נָא       na PLEASE עֲצָרַנִי       a'tsa'ra'ni he~did~STOP (Verb)~me(cs) יְהוָה       YHWH YHWH מִלֶּדֶת       mi'le'det from~>~BRING.FORTH (Verb) בֹּא       bo !(ms)~COME (Verb) נָא       na PLEASE אֶל       el TO שִׁפְחָתִי       shiph'hha'ti MAID~me(cs) אוּלַי       u'lai POSSIBLY אִבָּנֶה       i'ba'neh I(cs)~will~BUILD (Verb) מִמֶּנָּה       mi'me'nah FROM~her וַיִּשְׁמַע       wai'yish'ma and~he~will~HEAR (Verb) אַבְרָם       av'ram Avram לְקוֹל       lê'qol to~VOICE שָׂרָי       sa'rai Sarai Genesis 16:3 and after ten years of the settling of Avram in the land of Kena'an, Sarai, the woman of Avram, took Hagar, the one of Mits'rayim, her maid, and she gave her to Avram, her man, for him for a woman, וַתִּקַּח       wa'ti'qahh and~she~will~TAKE (Verb) MAID~her מִקֵּץ       mi'qeyts from~CONCLUSION עֶשֶׂר       e'ser TEN שָׁנִים       sha'nim YEAR~s לְשֶׁבֶת       lê'she'vet to~>~SETTLE (Verb) אַבְרָם       av'ram Avram בְּאֶרֶץ       bê'e'rets in~LAND כְּנָעַן       kê'na'an Kena'an וַתִּתֵּן       wa'ti'teyn and~she~will~GIVE (Verb) אֹתָהּ       o'tah AT~her לְאַבְרָם       lê'av'ram to~Avram אִישָׁהּ       i'shah MAN~her לוֹ       lo to~~him לְאִשָּׁה       lê'i'shah to~WOMAN Genesis 16:4 and he came to Hagar and she conceived, and she saw that she conceived, and her female owner was belittled in her eyes, וַיָּבֹא       wai'ya'vo and~he~will~COME (Verb) אֶל       el TO הָגָר       ha'gar Hagar וַתַּהַר       wa'ta'har and~she~will~CONCEIVE (Verb) וַתֵּרֶא       wa'tey're and~she~will~SEE (Verb) כִּי       ki GIVEN.THAT הָרָתָה       ha'ra'tah she~did~CONCEIVE (Verb) וַתֵּקַל       wa'tey'qal and~she~will~BELITTLE (Verb) גְּבִרְתָּהּ       gê'vir'tah FEMALE.OWNER~her בְּעֵינֶיהָ       bê'ey'ney'ah in~EYE~s2~her Genesis 16:5 and Sarai said to Avram, "my violence is upon you, I gave my maid in your bosom, and she saw that she conceived, and I am belittled in her eyes, Yhwh will decide between me and you," וַתֹּאמֶר       wa'to'mer and~she~will~SAY (Verb) שָׂרַי       sa'rai Sarai אֶל       el TO אַבְרָם       av'ram Avram חֲמָסִי       hha'ma'si VIOLENCE~me(cs) עָלֶיךָ       a'ley'kha UPON~you(ms) אָנֹכִי       a'no'khi I נָתַתִּי       na'ta'ti I(cs)~did~GIVE (Verb) שִׁפְחָתִי       shiph'hha'ti MAID~me(cs) בְּחֵיקֶךָ       bê'hhey'qe'kha in~BOSOM~you(ms) וַתֵּרֶא       wa'tey're and~she~will~SEE (Verb) כִּי       ki GIVEN.THAT הָרָתָה       ha'ra'tah she~did~CONCEIVE (Verb) וָאֵקַל       wa'ey'qal and~I(cs)~will~BELITTLE (Verb) בְּעֵינֶיהָ       bê'ey'ney'ah in~EYE~s2~her יִשְׁפֹּט       yish'pot he~will~DECIDE (Verb) יְהוָה       YHWH YHWH בֵּינִי       bey'ni BETWEEN~me(cs) וּבֵינֶיךָ       u'vey'ney'kha and~BETWEEN~you(ms) Genesis 16:6 and Avram said to Sarai, "look, your maid is in your hand, do to her what is functional in your eyes," and Sarai afflicted her, and she fled from her face, וַיֹּאמֶר       wai'yo'mer and~he~will~SAY (Verb) אַבְרָם       av'ram Avram אֶל       el TO שָׂרַי       sa'rai Sarai הִנֵּה       hin'neyh LOOK שִׁפְחָתֵךְ       shiph'hha'teykh MAID~you(fs) בְּיָדֵךְ       bê'ya'deykh in~HAND~you(fs) עֲשִׂי       a'si !(fs)~DO (Verb) לָהּ       lah to~~her הַטּוֹב       ha'tov the~FUNCTIONAL בְּעֵינָיִךְ       bê'ey'na'yikh in~EYE~s2~you(fs) וַתְּעַנֶּהָ       wat'a'ne'ah and~she~will~AFFLICT (Verb)~her שָׂרַי       sa'rai Sarai וַתִּבְרַח       wa'tiv'rahh and~she~will~FLEE.AWAY (Verb) מִפָּנֶיהָ       mi'pa'ney'ah from~FACE~s~her Genesis 16:7 and the messenger of Yhwh found her upon the eye of the waters in the wilderness, upon the eye in the road of Shur, וַיִּמְצָאָהּ       wai'yim'tsa'ah and~he~will~FIND (Verb)~her מַלְאַךְ       mal'akh MESSENGER יְהוָה       YHWH YHWH עַל       al UPON עֵין       eyn EYE (Meaning a "fountain.") הַמַּיִם       ha'ma'yim the~WATER~s2 בַּמִּדְבָּר       ba'mid'bar in~the~WILDERNESS עַל       al UPON הָעַיִן       ha'a'yin the~EYE בְּדֶרֶךְ       bê'de'rekh in~ROAD שׁוּר       shur Shur Genesis 16:8 and he said, "Hagar, the maid of Sarai, from where did you come and wherever are you walking?" and she said, "I am fleeing away from the face of Sarai my female owner," וַיֹּאמַר       wai'yo'mar and~he~will~SAY (Verb) הָגָר       ha'gar Hagar שִׁפְחַת       shiph'hhat MAID שָׂרַי       sa'rai Sarai אֵי       ey WHERE מִזֶּה       mi'zeh from~THIS בָאת       vat you(fs)~did~COME (Verb) וְאָנָה       wê'a'nah and~WHEREVER תֵלֵכִי       tey'ley'khi you(fs)~will~WALK (Verb) וַתֹּאמֶר       wa'to'mer and~she~will~SAY (Verb) מִפְּנֵי       mip'ney from~FACE~s שָׂרַי       sa'rai Sarai גְּבִרְתִּי       gê'vir'ti FEMALE.OWNER~me(cs) אָנֹכִי       a'no'khi I בֹּרַחַת       bo'ra'hhat FLEE.AWAY (Verb)~ing/er(fs) Genesis 16:9 and the messenger of Yhwh said to her, "turn back to your female owner and afflict yourself under her hands," וַיֹּאמֶר       wai'yo'mer and~he~will~SAY (Verb) לָהּ       lah to~~her מַלְאַךְ       mal'akh MESSENGER יְהוָה       YHWH YHWH שׁוּבִי       shu'vi !(fs)~TURN.BACK (Verb) אֶל       el TO גְּבִרְתֵּךְ       gê'vir'teykh FEMALE.OWNER~you(fs) וְהִתְעַנִּי       wê'hit'a'ni and~!(fs)~self~AFFLICT (Verb) תַּחַת       ta'hhat UNDER יָדֶיהָ       ya'dey'ah HAND~s2~her Genesis 16:10 and the messenger of Yhwh said to her, "I will surely make your seed an increase, and he will not be counted from an abundance," וַיֹּאמֶר       wai'yo'mer and~he~will~SAY (Verb) לָהּ       lah to~~her מַלְאַךְ       mal'akh MESSENGER יְהוָה       YHWH YHWH הַרְבָּה       har'bah >~make~INCREASE (Verb) אַרְבֶּה       ar'beh I(cs)~will~make~INCREASE (Verb) אֶת       et AT זַרְעֵךְ       zar'eykh SEED~you(fs) וְלֹא       wê'lo and~NOT יִסָּפֵר       yi'sa'pheyr he~will~be~COUNT (Verb) מֵרֹב       mey'rov from~ABUNDANCE Genesis 16:11 and the messenger of Yhwh said to her, "look, you are pregnant and you will bring forth a son, and you will call out his title Yishma'el, given that Yhwh will hear your affliction," וַיֹּאמֶר       wai'yo'mer and~he~will~SAY (Verb) לָהּ       lah to~~her מַלְאַךְ       mal'akh MESSENGER יְהוָה       YHWH YHWH הִנָּךְ       hi'nakh LOOK~you(fs) הָרָה       ha'rah PREGNANT וְיֹלַדְתְּ       wê'yo'lad'te and~you(fs)~did~BRING.FORTH (Verb) בֵּן       beyn SON וְקָרָאת       wê'qa'rat and~you(fs)~did~CALL.OUT (Verb) שְׁמוֹ       shê'mo TITLE~him יִשְׁמָעֵאל       yish'ma'eyl Yishma'el כִּי       ki GIVEN.THAT שָׁמַע       sha'ma he~did~HEAR (Verb) יְהוָה       YHWH YHWH אֶל       el TO עָנְיֵךְ       an'yeykh AFFLICTION~you(fs) Genesis 16:12 "and he will exist as a wild ass of a human, his hand will be in all and the hand of all will be in him, and he will dwell upon the faces of all his brothers," וְהוּא       wê'hu and~HE יִהְיֶה       yih'yeh Genesis 16:13 and she called out the title of Yhwh, the one speaking to her, "you are El-Ra'iy" given that she said, "will I also see at this point after seeing me?" וַתִּקְרָא       wa'tiq'ra and~she~will~CALL.OUT (Verb) שֵׁם       sheym TITLE יְהוָה       YHWH YHWH הַדֹּבֵר       ha'do'veyr the~SPEAK (Verb)~ing/er(ms) אֵלֶיהָ       ey'ley'ah TO~her אַתָּה       a'tah YOU(MS) אֵל־רֳאִי       eyl'ra'i El-Ra'iy כִּי       ki GIVEN.THAT אָמְרָה       am'rah she~did~SAY (Verb) הֲגַם       ha'gam ?~ALSO הֲלֹם       ha'lom AT.THIS.POINT רָאִיתִי       ra'i'ti I(cs)~did~SEE (Verb) אַחֲרֵי       a'hha'rey AFTER רֹאִי       ro'i SEE (Verb)~ing/er(ms)~me(cs) Genesis 16:14 therefore he called out to the well Be'er-Lahhiy-Ro'iy, look, it is between Qadesh and Bered, עַל       al UPON כֵּן       keyn SO (The Phrase "UPON SO" means "therefore.") קָרָא       qa'ra he~did~CALL.OUT (Verb) לַבְּאֵר       la'be'eyr to~the~WELL בְּאֵר־לַחַי־רֹאִי       bê'eyr-la'hhai-ro'i Be'er-Lahhiy-Ro'iy הִנֵּה       hin'neyh LOOK בֵין       vayn BETWEEN קָדֵשׁ       qa'deysh Qadesh וּבֵין       u'veyn and~BETWEEN בָּרֶד       ba'red Bered Genesis 16:15 and Hagar brought forth for Avram a son, and Avram called out the title of his son which Hagar brought forth Yishma'el, וַתֵּלֶד       wa'tey'led and~she~will~BRING.FORTH (Verb) הָגָר       ha'gar Hagar לְאַבְרָם       lê'av'ram to~Avram בֵּן       beyn SON וַיִּקְרָא       wai'yiq'ra and~he~will~CALL.OUT (Verb) אַבְרָם       av'ram Avram שֶׁם       shem TITLE בְּנוֹ       bê'no SON~him אֲשֶׁר       a'sher WHICH יָלְדָה       yal'dah she~did~BRING.FORTH (Verb) הָגָר       ha'gar Hagar יִשְׁמָעֵאל       yish'ma'eyl Yishma'el Genesis 16:16 and Avram was a son of eighty six years in the giving birth of Hagar to Yishma'el for Avram, וְאַבְרָם       wê'av'ram and~Avram בֶּן       ben SON (Son is an idiom for years "old.") שְׁמֹנִים       shê'mo'nim EIGHT~s שָׁנָה       sha'nah YEAR וְשֵׁשׁ       wê'sheysh and~SIX שָׁנִים
